The following are current actions relating to prison and criminal justice reform.
Prison Strike Solidarity Demo in the FL Capitol (+Angela Davis)
January 16, 2018, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM at 501 S Calhoun St, Tallahassee, FL 32301 (see directions).
Hosted by Campaign to Fight Toxic Prisons, Gainseville IWOC, Goddsville Dream Defenders, FSU Students for Justice in Palestine, Dream Defenders and SPARC.
Former political prisoner and abolitionist scholar Angela Davis will be speaking on the FSU campus at 6pm.
We are calling for activists, and friends/family of prisoners across the state to come out early to join IWOC, Fight Toxic Prisons and others rallying at the Florida Department of Corrections (DOC) headquarters in solidarity with the prisoners on strike.
We are timing this demo to hit the lunch break of DOC staff and other state employees. Please be there on time.
For those of you in or near Gainesville we will be meeting at the Civic Media Center at 8am and leaving at 8:30 sharp to carpool to to Tallahassee.
